Transformationsledare/ Senior Systems Engineer / Kravingenjör för JDM/ODM‑övergång
The client is looking for a consultant for a 6‑month assignment starting immediately. The role focuses on supporting hardware development by translating internal technical requirements into clear specifications for external partners, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring that delivered solutions meet functional and performance expectations.
________________________________
1. Project Scope
The Consultant will lead the transition of the SmartTag Color ESL family from an "Internal Design" specification (White Box) to a "Performance-Based" specification (Black Box). This includes defining the boundaries within which a partner can innovate or modify the design without compromising brand integrity or system compatibility.
2. Key Phases & Deliverables
Phase 1: Portfolio Audit & Gap Analysis
* Audit: Review all existing CAD, BOMs, schematics, and legacy requirement documents for the [Product Family].
* Constraint Mapping: Identify "Hard Constraints" (Brand, Safety, Critical Performance) vs. "Flexible Constraints" (Internal routing, component sourcing, non-critical sub-assemblies).
* Deliverable: Gap Analysis Report & Transition Roadmap.
Phase 2: Functional Specification Development (The "Black Box")
* Requirement Decomposition: Rewrite internal technical specs into Functional Requirements (e.g., instead of specifying a specific fan model, specify the required CFM, noise floor, and power draw).
* Interface Control Documents (ICD): Define all physical, electrical, and data interfaces that the partner must maintain to ensure ecosystem compatibility.
* Design Envelopes: Establish the "Safe Zones" for partner-led cost optimization and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) modifications.
* Deliverable: Master Functional Specification Suite.
Phase 3: Verification & Acceptance Framework
* Acceptance Criteria: Define the specific tests and data the partner must provide to prove a modification meets original intent.
* Quality Gates: Establish a "Modification Approval Process" for the partner.
* Deliverable: Partner Verification & Validation (V&V) Matrix.
Phase 4: Pilot Handoff & Training
* Internal Training: Brief the internal engineering and procurement teams on how to manage the new specification format.
* Deliverable: Final Project Archive & Internal "How-to" Guide.

3. Required Consultant Competencies
The Consultant/Firm must demonstrate:
* Prior JDM/ODM Transition Experience: Proven history of moving companies from in-house R&D to partner-led models.
* Systems Engineering Expertise: Deep knowledge of Requirement Management (functional vs. design-specific).
* Hardware Breadth: Ability to navigate Mechanical, Electrical, and Firmware interdependencies.
* Tools: Experience with PLM/Requirements software (e.g., Arena, Propel, Jama, or Jira).

4. Success Criteria
The project is considered successful when:
1. The SmartTag Color family can be quoted by an external partner without requiring internal engineering support for "intent clarification."
2. A clear boundary is established regarding IP ownership of partner-led improvements.
