Senior COBOL Developer – Securities / Mainframe

We are currently looking for a Senior COBOL Developer with experience from the securities domain for an assignment with one of our clients in Stockholm.


Assignment Overview

The consultant will join a maintenance and development team responsible for a securities custody/depository system running on a mainframe platform.

The role includes both development and maintenance activities, incident management, and participation in an on-call rotation (24/7). The team works according to SAFe agile methodology, and close collaboration within the team is essential.


The assignment will also include activities related to a migration from the current COBOL/Mainframe environment to a new outsourced platform, making experience with legacy modernization and complex system environments highly valuable.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop a mainframe-based securities system
  • Participate in incident management and on-call support
  • Work closely with a small agile team following SAFe methodology
  • Contribute to system migration activities from COBOL/Mainframe to a new platform
  • Collaborate with developers, operations teams, and business stakeholders


Required Skills

  • COBOL development experience
  • Mainframe (z/OS) environment
  • Experience from Banking / Financial Services
  • Experience working with securities / custody systems


Important Skills

  • JCL scripting
  • Middleware experience (MQ, Message Broker, Sterling, Batch)
  • Experience working in SAFe / Agile environments


Nice to Have

  • Experience with mainframe platforms such as Kärnan/Kund
  • Previous experience from large banking environments
  • System integration testing
  • Unit testing
