Senior Backend Java Developer

As a Senior Backend Developer, you’ll be part of the Assortment Team—a cross-functional, agile group responsible for maintaining, enriching, and personalizing product and assortment data for online channels (web and app). The team also designs and builds internal tools that support central operations and in-store employees, driving better decisions and enhanced end-user experiences.

The team works in a hybrid setup and thrives on collaboration between the Product Owner, Tech Lead, developers, and architects. We value teamwork, shared ownership, and a practical approach to continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

• Strengthen and evolve backend capabilities to ensure stable, scalable, and secure operations.
• Build and deploy microservices and data-driven APIs powering multiple digital services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across product and technology areas.
• Contribute to improving team practices, workflows, and technical standards.

Who you are

• A senior backend developer who takes ownership and drives solutions forward.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an agile mindset.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Able to work on-site in Solna at least 3 days per week.

Your background

• 5+ years of experience as a Java Backend Developer.
• Strong skills in Java (17+), Spring Boot, and microservice architecture.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and event-driven systems (Kafka).
• Solid understanding of databases (SQL/MongoDB) and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with build tools such as Maven and Gradle.
• Experienced working with agile methodologies.

Nice to have

• Frontend development experience (React, Angular, or similar).
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, IAC).
• Swedish language skills.
