Business Intelligence (BI) Developer
As a BI Developer, you’ll design, build, and operate reporting and analytics solutions that improve how the business works with data — from daily terminal operations to long-term strategic decisions.
You’ll work primarily in the Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft analytics stack — including Power BI, Power Apps, and the broader Microsoft Fabric/Azure data platform — to develop dashboards, semantic models, and data solutions that help the organisation make smarter, faster decisions.
Your work will span the entire lifecycle: shaping requirements with stakeholders, modelling data, building dashboards and apps, ensuring data quality and security, and continuously improving BI delivery.
You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across domains such as operations, commercial, and finance — as well as product owners, data engineers, and analysts — to ensure that insights are accessible, reliable, and actionable.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality BI solutions – Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and semantic models supporting operational, tactical, and strategic decision-making.
Data modelling and preparation – Develop robust, reusable data models reflecting key business entities (vessel calls, gate movements, terminal resources, customers, incidents, etc.).
Data quality, governance, and security – Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with GDPR. Apply best practices in access control, classification, and refresh reliability.
Business partnering – Translate operational challenges into meaningful analytical products. Collaborate with leaders in port operations, claims, and planning to prioritise initiatives that drive real impact.
Operations and lifecycle management –
Manage workspaces, datasets, and apps according to DevOps guidelines.
Implement CI/CD practices for BI artefacts using Azure DevOps.
Monitor refresh jobs, gateway health, and downstream usage, ensuring stability and 24/7 readiness for critical dashboards.
