SE_Simulation & Analysis Engineer_Specialist
Description: On Specialist level the employee is a specialist in Simulation & Analysis Engineering obtained through education and work experience (position typically requires 8 years or more relevant experience).
In this role as Simulation Engineer you will plan, lead and perform computer aided analysis of transmissions within strength, durability and vibration. These gearboxes will be installed in conventional or BEV applications. You will support project leaders and design engineers in all project phases with technical solutions. You are involved in concept design and new technologies at Driveline. Abaqus and ANSA will be your main tools.
It is expected that you present and explain your results at meetings as well as in technical reports. You need to be able to work both independently and in cross functional teams.
To be successful, we believe you have the following skills/experience:
• Master of Science or higher in Mechanical Engineering with focus on Applied Mechanics or equivalent.
• Previous relevant experience a simulation engineer within automotive industry, preferably at a Powertrain department.
• Work experience within Abaqus and the pre/post-processor ANSA/META. The fatigue analysis tool nCode DesignLife or similar software is seen as a plus, as well as a programming competence in Python or Matlab.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
Start date in the middle of June or after the main vacation period at Volvo (middle of August, w33).
