Senior Frontend Developer (TypeScript & React) – Gothenburg

We are searching for a very Senior TypeScript/React Developer on behalf of our client in Gothenburg. Here, you will be part of the app development team. The team is responsible for developing the client’s app on Android, iOS, Windows, Linux, and macOS. In the role as Senior TypeScript/React Developer, your primary focus will be working with TypeScript and React to bring new features to their desktop app. Their app and everything their team works on is open source and available on GitHub.

As a person it is important that you like to work and collaborate in a team, and you bring your own ideas to the table. Also, you should be interested in software security and privacy.

Your tasks will for example include:

• Implementing new views and features using TypeScript, React and Styled Components.
• Work closely with the rest of the app team, both developers and designers.
• Interact with OS features through the Electron APIs, such as tray icon, autostart functionality, respecting system preferences and persist settings on disk.
• Utilize IPC within Electron and perform RPC calls to communicate with the app's system service.
• Contribute to upstream open source projects.
• Developing products with a high focus on security. Both in terms of what the code does, but also in the development process including supply chain security, code signing etc
• Opportunity to learn/work with Rust, Kotlin, TypeScript, and more to improve the app on other platforms if you wish.

Desired profile:

• Very skilled and experienced with TypeScript
• 5+ years of professional experience with web technologies CSS and React.
• Previous experience with NodeJS.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Interest and/or experience with networking and/or security is a plus.

Location: Gothenburg, 3 days on site
